They are still a bit young to be able to tell. Wait a few weeks and take new pics of them. Whole body shots are nice but make sure to get the the comb area too.
Since you don't know the exact age its harder to tell. Is there any swelling in the comb area or widening? Did you look on the back for emerging saddle feathers? The pic I enclosed below is the comb of a 7 1/2 week old ee roo. You can clearly see the widening and swelling of the comb and it has...
Do you have a side view of the comb? This pic is a bit blurry and its hard to tell what the comb looks like in this pic. That comb is bright red though from the looks of it.
To the EE breeders out there ....which of these 2 ee roos is more likely to be carrying the blue egg gene? What color egglayers can I expect chicks to be if I breed these EEs to Americaunas? Mostly blue eggs?Or will it be variable?(supposed to be getting black blue and splash americaunas from a...
Yes yours is quite small and flat to be a 15 week old roo. When I did a close up of your 15 week old with my 10 week old the difference is glaring. I'll be shocked if yours turns out to be a roo .The coloring is odd because a lot of the time the whitish ones turn out to be roos like mine. A mix...
Ok here you go...here he is at 11 weeks ready to go to his new home since I could not keep him. He looks much different than your 15 week old. Hope this helps!!
Boy that is a tough one.By just 11 weeks my white EE roo had very red large comb and pointy saddle feathers coming in.He also was crowing and dancing for the hens with attempts at mounting when he got up the nerve. Actually by 7 weeks I knew something was up with him because of the comb getting...
Looks like a pullet but the pic is a little blurry. How old are they? I had a boy just like your black and white roo. he was a sweetheart but had to give him up because I can't have roosters here.
11 weeks?? I'm going to guess that they are all pullets. .I don't see any bright red wide combs in there yet. I love the white one so pretty. Wish I had gotten so lucky. I had to rehome my 2 EE's this year because they turned out to be roos.
They all look like roos. Your luck seems to be as good as mine with EE's lol! I bought 2 this year(from a sexed pullet bin no less!) and both turned out to be roos.
At 9 weeks I'm gonna guess that this is a very pretty girl.I don't see any comb at all on her.My boys on the other hand starting showing early and by 71/2 weeks I knew they were both roos.
@Polarbearpilot ,I'm not so sure that your bad leg chick is a roo.I posted some pics here a few weeks ago of my EE roos at 71/2 weeks and you can clearly tell they are boys from the comb.I don't see any resemblance between your babys comb and their combs. You may just have yourself a pullet
Another set of pics I took that I thought might be helpful for those looking to figure out the sex of their EE's.These are the same EE roos at approx. 7 1/2 weeks old. None of my pullets ever had combs this red or wide this early. All pullets combs were still small and yellow or just very pale pink.
