    Blue Laced Red Wyandotte THREAD!

a photo of the pullet with a close up of her lacing is what folks wanted to see after she was posted for sale. Once the lacing photo was posted, she sold in about 5 minutes and we had inquiries with emails sent in case we get any more.

    Blue Laced Red Wyandotte THREAD!

we had no idea they were sold that way either, until we bought three and ended up with all Splash. They were posted for sale as Juvenile Splash. The hen went within an hour. The roos ate still for sale until the end of June, at which time they will get mixed with noodles and veggies. Lesson...

    Blue Laced Red Wyandotte THREAD!

Eggs are coming from a breeder here in NC who shows her birds. Can't remember the name. The hatchery owner knows what we're looking for so he got her to sell us a dozen. Our last hatch was 90% so we hope we can do it again. Will be tossing in some other eggs just to fill the bator. Got another...

    Blue Laced Red Wyandotte THREAD!

these two are about 8 to 10 weeks in age. Are they Splash or Blue? We tend to think a darker Splash. We are trying to raise a decent roo and put him over some nice hens. Not sure when to make noodle soup and try again. Both are roos. We have hatching eggs coming from a nice line this weekend so...

    Blue Laced Red Wyandotte THREAD!

they all look like pullets to me. Another week or so and it may be easier. I just don't see dark pink waddels and combs developing

    Blue Laced Red Wyandotte THREAD!

It is difficult to pick just one. That's where a buddy comes in. We set him up and he provides hatching eggs from great stock BLRWs. We do the Jubilees and will mix them as juveniles in the grow out pen and seperate before they come of age. We can pick a favorite hen for us and sell the rest.

    Blue Laced Red Wyandotte THREAD!

posted some before. Will toss some up this weekend. Trying to get some blue and black to maybe breed next spring. Our current Roo is starting to show that he will either be a lighter blue or darker splash. But,we are only going to breed English Jubilee on our property and any others will be at a...

    Blue Laced Red Wyandotte THREAD!

think mine are Splash to blueish Splash. I ordered hatching eggs from a show quality line here in NC to try to get nicer body and color

    Blue Laced Red Wyandotte THREAD!

They don't look blue to me either but telling blue from black is hard early on sometimes, at least that is what I've been told by more experienced folks. Mine had a lot more apparent blue than those

    Blue Laced Red Wyandotte THREAD!

Agreed. At this point it looks like a hen but could just be a slow developing Roo. This looks very similar to our splash hen.

    Blue Laced Red Wyandotte THREAD!

nice. Him being dark will deepen the blue on the hens anyway. Like the first hens tail and the second hens color is fantastic too.

    Blue Laced Red Wyandotte THREAD!

yeah, the roo does get leggy, kind of resembling an Ostrich when compared to a pullet

    Blue Laced Red Wyandotte THREAD!

We really wanted an actual BLRW but didn't view this thread before picking out the chicks. We have a definite splash and maybe the other two are also. Maybe they will be a darker blue splash. They are just over a month old so we are waiting to see how they turn out. We do have a roo, and as we...
