and they may need the lamp on 24/7 in the coop to keep it from freezing.
In san Diego 6 week old chicks still have access to heat 24/7 and they are in the garage. They may not need it but they seem to grow much faster and thrive when it is on.
She has potential. . I am not sure Foley sells his best birds though (no surprise there). I had some eggs from a pair of birds directly from Foley and the chicks were extremely variable in quality. It really depends on what set of genes you end up with in each bird.

I did sell (super cheap) 5 4 week old chicks at the weekend. I thought he wanted quality breeders to keep. I think 2 splash and 3 darker ones. They do look very like the ones I sold, and the same age (and fatness :-) ). In that case then they are may have come...
