    spish, I can't believe that is the same bird, I know you can't either. she looks great, you have done wonders and having a friend with her is probably great medicine for her too. keep up the good work, I think the skin will grow back over that area just make sure it stays clean.. all the best.

    Thats good advise because even though I knew that about peroxide i didn't know it about betadine. So even if it's watered down we still shouldn't use the betadine?.

    Spish that is so amazing that she is up and alert and ready to eat.. about the wound drying out, maybe you need to readjust those heat lamps or if you have her in a warm inviroment maybe she doesn't need them now that the shock is wearing off.     I believe I'd just let her rest in the above until you hear from someone on here that knows about wounds like this. you go cutting now you might finish her off [when I say above I mean in a quiet dark place. .

    I'm not a nurse or dr. but we do have them on here so hopefully they will be here soon for more advise. Do you have her in a quiet, dark place for now to help with shock? and put water in there with her, if you have electrolytes I'd put some in her water too.
