hello all, I just got 15 free cornish cross chicks at wilco in O.C. I had to buy 3 50# bags of feed at $19 a bag to get the free chicks. 5 free chicks per person, 10 free chicks per family. I took the neighbor girl with us to get the extra 5. we'll see how it all works out. Mike

Never mind. I just went anyway. For some reason I didn't see any road island reds. lots of other breeds though. Seen a columbian rock poulet that was just gorgeous. Nothing on the for sale side tempted me enough to spend my money. I stopped on the way home and bought 5 day old sexlinks...

Thank you Leslie, I'll be needing 200lbs of feed for em anyway, so maybe that would work out good for me. Any idea what month the classify as spring?

Thanks for getting back to me Cluck. I have 4 coturnix now (3 hens and a roo), and 25 jumbo eggs incubating. Hey Cluck, I see your adds on CL. If you don't mind me asking, what kind of coturnix do you raise? Jumbo's by chance? Tell us about your quail. I don't do face book, which is why I'm asking here. Thanks, Mike

Congratulations!, My daughter and I had to leave just after 10am for another engagement. Wish I could have stayed and seen the final results of the judging. Had a great time, even though it was a short time.

I've never really understood this. Does this mean that one hen can lay a green, and a blue, and a pink egg? One hen making different colors? Or does it mean one hen will lay a green all the time, one hen will lay a blue all the time, and one hen will lay a pink all the time? Thanks for any...

Hi Trav, I got mine from a girl-lady-woman, whatever, who lives in Mollala. I picked them up the second week in November, and guessed they were hatched on the 7th of November. They were all very healthy, and grew up with the black sex links, which were about the same age. The one that died was...
