Currently I have 2 red sex links, 2 barred rock hens (these 4 are a little over two years old.) 5 4 now,( one recently died) silkies about 15 weeks old, and 4 black sex link pullets about 15 weeks old.

Did you get your Silkies from a local breeder? I bought 4 from one, one died a week later. Got 2 replacements. I caused the death of one 3 weeks ago and lost one to genetic organ failure 2 weeks ago. But the remaining 3 are doing good. And may be getting up to 6 BBS Catdance chicks from another BYCer if all 6 eggs hatch in 2 weeks. I am going to be breeding BBS

So here is the Splash Laced Red Wyandotte bantam I got from Cloverleaf yesterday. It is so small, even smaller than my chick that hatched two days later.

Hi Trav,
I got mine from a girl-lady-woman, whatever, who lives in Mollala. I picked them up the second week in November, and guessed they were hatched on the 7th of November. They were all very healthy, and grew up with the black sex links, which were about the same age.

The one that died was my fault I think. I think she/he ate some broken glass shards, and that did the killing.
I got the silkies because I've got a crazy idea to change out my small flock of egg layers every year. I thought if I got 5 silkie chicks I would end up with at least 2 hens for broodies. At this point I still can't tell the sex of any of them.

1 Splash 3 various shades of blue. Maybe one of the blues is actually a black. The one that died was a partrage. My daughters favorite.
