Have you checked craigslist? I know there’s a seller that had a listing for them most of the year, not sure if it’s still up though.

Anybody need roosters? I have too many cockerels and they’re starting to cause problems.

I’m in the eastern side of the state, we’ve already been getting snow. The high today was 32. We put a heat lamp in the coop and put down a deep layer of straw to keep it warmer inside and the chickens have been doing well. During the day they don’t seem to care at all, we just have to make sure...

Craigslist is also a good resource for hatching eggs.

Stay safe and be careful, everyone. The wind shifted today and the air quality has gotten worse. I’m in the east end of the state and the smoke has reached me in the last couple of hours. The whole state is in hazardous levels of smoke. Stay indoors if you can.

Got my ameraucana chicks! There’s one that I already think is a boy, he’s very loud. If anyone in the Portland area is looking for ameraucanas I’ve found this breeder to be very good.

Oregon city Wilco came through on the chicks! Got 2 each of cuckoo marans, buff orpingtons, and light brahmas.

Thank you. I’m picking up 4 ameraucanas next Monday and I’ll check to see if any farm stores still have chicks near me this weekend. As of last week Wilco still had some.

19 right now. We lost 10 yesterday. But we are looking into getting more. I have a line on pure ameraucana chicks up near Vancouver, and I’m thinking of ordering some hatching eggs. I’m in eastern Oregon but my dad lives in Happy Valley so I’m picking up the ameraucana when I visit him.

I guess Oregon isn’t a very active state on here. But I’m still here too!

Hey Oregonians, is there anybody on the eastern side of the state with hatching eggs? I’m wanting to hatch some more chicks, but I can’t go into Portland anytime soon to buy eggs and don’t know anybody local with fertile eggs. I’m located about an hour south of Pendleton.

My broody’s baby hatched! I’m pretty sure it’s an ameraucana/Wyandotte, and if my feather sexing is correct it’s a girl!

Awe man, that sucks. I hope your other 3 do well though.

Awe, sorry your hatch didn’t go so well. But congrats on the ones that made it! I hope your malines give you the hen and roo that you want. I candled again today and there’s still only the one egg developing. There were a couple more that looked like they may have started and not gotten past...

I’m planning to leave all of them for now and check again in a few days. Any babies should be easier to see after a couple more days.

Woohoo! Good luck to your babies! I candled today. Only saw development in one, but it’s still pretty early and I was trying to do it quickly, so hopefully there’s some I missed.

Good to know. I’m planning on looking more into that over the next few months. My barred rocks are only 8 weeks old, so not quite old enough. I’ve got some easter eggers and australorps the same age too.

Yeah it seems there's a few different ways to getting sex linked chicks. I've heard that breeding my ameraucana roo with my barred rocks will produce a sex link too, so when the barred rocks are old enough I may have to try that out.
