Congrats to all! Thanks so much for joining me on my first hatch! What a learning experience this has been! Setting 30 more! Blue Ameracuanas, Silver Spangled Hamburgs, Buff Orps, Black Copper and Blue Splash Marans...
Now on to learn more about raising chickens!
Still nothing from the last 4
Had to make another brooder for the buff orp...I went to put her in with the other 2 new babies and they went after her ! Holy cow! Pecking at her like they were gonna kill her!
She's fine in her own digs now.

What do you do with them all? Keep for meat & eggs or are you breeding? I just wanted 5 or 6 for eggs, but I have 30 more waiting to go in the incubator when this one is done!
I think I need another 'bator!

lol, yes I only have 1 set of chick feeder & waterer, so they went to the new babies..Mr. Peepers is about 10 days old, so I thought I would try it, the glass is heavy, so he can't knock it over!
Congrats everyone & Good Luck!!
One more hatched while I was at work! Here's my 2 new Light Brahma fuzzy butts
One was almost completely zipped and stuck in the egg! I waited all night, then decided to help her out. I got a warm wet paper towel and gently peeled back some of the shell...
I'm glad I put the paper towels on the wire! It will be easier to clean up the icky egg stuff! Little chicky has made it around the whole bator already! I guess it's ok if he's knocking around eggs...
One is pipping away! Every once in a while I can see his little beak coming out of the shell! This is so cool!! 2 others have pips, but not all the way through the egg. Nothing yet from the others. I don't know how I can go to work!
It's probably ok. Although I really don't know what I'm doing yet. But I read that it's ok for temp variance 99-101. I read another post about a smell in the incubator and they said sometimes it's just the incubator and eggs smell. Whatever that means!! Sorry I can't be more help!
I took the egg turner out. I though about using egg cartons since so many seem to like them, but I decided to just set them on the wire, I put paper towels on the wire first. Not sure if that matters. And I swear I just heard a chirping egg!
