Chiggers? Your chickens could have them too. The sick looking bird on here with the head swelling, I would bet a dozen eggs it was chiggers. That's why the ivermectin treatment worked. I'm so sad that I couldn't come to POOPS, any chance of having it in a more central location?

Am I the only one with horse flies already? The wet spell has turned my pastures into a swarm of horse flies. Will they bother the chickens?

How many eggs do you want a day? (Example: I have 5 hens laying right now and get about 3 eggs a day.) Do you live in an area with any restrictions? (Some cities will not allow roosters.) Do you want eggs and/or meat? Many of us just started with small flocks and then things kind of go...

Kyzmette, I have some keets that are 2-3 weeks old but I'm not going to POOPS. Two are Royal Purple and one could be brown.

The $10 per shirt is only for the chest logo with backing and a cover material so the threads/backing will not scratch the wearer. I personally don't sew on polo collars, I find the weave to not be kind to stitches and things can get weird really fast. Pockets depend on size as I have to get...

OK, the closest logo I can find is: http://www.embroiderydesigns.com/productdetails/Dakota-Collectibles/1/MA1293.aspx A custom digitized design based on what you gave as reference pictures will run around $35-$60 for just the design. Depending on the number of shirts you want made, I'm not...

Sure, what is the mascot? I may need to buy the stitch file for the logo but if it can be stitched then I can do it. Scratch that, I don't embroider shoes.

Thanks, it is expensive. Last year I bought one combo machine and a ten needle embroidery machine. I did the Christmas program shirts for 5 classrooms at my son's school and had both machines humming 16 hours a day.

OMG, I've already used three pre-wound bobbins on my embroidery machine today. YIKES! Haven't done that since the Christmas rush.

Nematodes, yes I've used them. Pro, they work but you can't tell until they don't. Con, you can not use any pesticides even if needed.

Clay poultices might work but they are usually for reduction in swelling and not drawing from what I remember about my days with jumping horses. If you got it then try it!

Swelling that has now drawn into one mass that is hard, sounds like an abscess. Some drawing salve or icthammol should draw/pull it out.

Did you inspect for mildew? Are there any holes in the soil to indicate insect activity that might have cut the roots? Is the stem split from excess water (rain)?
