Annie's thread- Five puppies! LOTS of PICS on page 10!

I really would take the collars off completely. They are very dangerous to the pups. If you want to still mark them get some finger nail polish and paint the very ends of their tails or a dot on the underside of their necks. You'll have to reapply it but its much safer than strangled pups.

I just noticed your post describing what you gave her to eat. I'm not sure if you are with-holding food from her because she is close to labor. If you are please know that doing so isn't necessary as it is in people (not necessary there either but that's a whole 'nuther subject...). It's best...

LOL she's so dainty...until you look at her abdomen. I wonder how many she'll have -- I bet she has 10 in there! Or more!

LOL she is a good girl! Yeah thats a really low temp for a dog, it should be over 100.5 to be normal (that is unless she's going into labor, which she isn't at this time). The therm doesn't need to go in all that far, maybe an inch and half to 2 inches. Leave it there for three minutes for a...

Take it from someone who has helped whelp many litters of puppies..the temperature thing quite accurate if you are taking the temp properly. I have a friend that always, always, always temps her dogs and it's never steered her wrong. The thing is when the temp drops it may be 6-36 hours before...

I never knew about the mucus in the urine to be normal for a pregnant dog. Thanks for the new information, Lemkoboxer.

LOL holy cow, with that many ties no wonder she's huge. Really though, it only takes one good tie to have a large litter, I was just kidding. Mucus in pee? To me sounds like a UTI, especially if her pee is really yellow-- do you notice a stronger odor than normal? I know that humans can lose...

Looks like she's got a huge litter in there She still has a couple weeks to go too, WOW! Re: Peeing on the floor. Take her water up at night, maybe about 8 PM, then make sure she gets out and pees a couple times before you hit the sack. That should cut down on her urge to urinate. Give...

I would, as Squishy said, allow her to eat as much as she can a couple times a day. She'll need her fat reserves for nursing her puppies. Since she's had a history of picky eating this might also counter-condition her to be more interested in food even after the pups are gone.
