I agree - buyers would need to know - that is one of the reasons I mentioned the heritage of my flock - other GFF owners may see this pop up as well. I'm wondering if this gene is more prevalent in the lighter colored stock - As I said, this is 3'rd generation before this popped up. Here is...

I thought I'd share a picture of this little guy growing out - his parents were both CLB - I have 100% GFF stock and I'm on my adult birds are 2nd and 3rd generation out of my original stock I have two of these boys that hatched this year.. I 'm still trying to decide what to do with them!

these are three different birds - but they all have a lighter overall appearance than my other pullets/hens. I don't care for the comb on the oldest one though

He's young still, but I think this little guy might be a keeper. He's showing a little gold in the baring on the hackles - but I like him so far

Would the hen above and the roo below be considered "cream" in color - I'm still trying to lock it in my head exactly what I'm looking for

I have to agree. I do find the adult roos easier to sell than the chicks - when people see them they like the colors and are willing to pay for them. Of course by then I have more than $10 of feed in them, but I have to get rid of the culls some how. What I hate is when someone sees one of...

I've had so many roos I haven't had very many pullets to sell, but I was surprised at the local interest. I give the male chicks away and the female chick at 1-2 weeks old I'm selling for $20 no problem. I sold adult roosters for $10-15 each. I haven't had any thing else to sell yet. I bet I...

regarding comb size - Dr. Bjorn Netland was just sharing the fact that if raised in cold weather vs hot weather, the combs tend to develop smaller. I doubt there have been any studies on this, but if someone wanted to try a fall hatch and growing the birds out in colder weather to reduce comb...

I have not tried that in a cabinet. Maybe one or two per shelf so the heat makes it to the top?

so sorry that that happened. I hope your eggs are still viable. Any time I'm incubating, I keep a bunch of 'hot hands" hand warmers around. Unless you have a bunch, it wouldn't get you through days without electricity, but each set lasts for around 5 hours, so they can get you through a night...

I got it for being one of the first people that promised to join the club I think the OAC256 is a lighter blue than I would like, but hey, they don't judge the eggs (yet) so we can have variation there. I like just to the left of that the 255!
