    cockerel or pullet?

Well, I was just outside holding HER and those who said the neck hackle feathers would be rounded are absolutely correct!! They are most definitely rounded but the color pattern makes them 'look' pointed. So... Based on that fact and her slim legs and no wattles or big comb showing - I am pretty...

    cockerel or pullet?

Thanks for explaining about the color differences and about 3+ weeks and pink combs are okay. The two roos that I know are in the group are mostly black but are getting just a little of their pappa's birchen neck hackle coloring. Nothing as gorgeous as his but the markings are coming. Quote: Oh thank you for the hope!!! I really wanted to keep this little beauty. I hate to have to get rid of the boys cause they have lovely personalities and they will look nice too I'll post again in a week or two.

    cockerel or pullet?

Quote: I hope you are right. I don't have the space to keep separate full grown roos, so all of the cockerels will eventually have to go, so sad. This hatch gave me 4 biddies: all have the same papa a Birchen Giant Cochin, the mammas are: 1 Welsummer (the pullet that I am sure of is hers), 1...

    cockerel or pullet?

This is the parents of the biddie in question. Based on their coloring I would never have expected for the offspring to look like it does but I think it is lovely. Here is the biddie, who I hate to admit that I think is a cockerel, what do you think? It has lots of extra fluff from the...
