As lockdown hits I put water in the small channels in the incubator then I take two dish towels and get them wet and put them over the metal. This way no tiny toes get hurt and it adds moisture.

I have 6 eggs in my incubator. They are from my chickens, sort of an experiment. Dads are one of two sizzles(one is sizzle feathered and one is silkie feathered). Moms are one of 7 Cochin/silkie mixes. I thought they weren't suppose to hatch till Monday but I've got 4 pipped already and peeping...

I think that it depends. These guys were really trying to push out of the shells so I helped them. If they weren't trying so hard I would have left them.

So I bought an incubator from TSC about a month ago. It has held it's temp and humidity pretty well. Well Wednesday is suppose to be hatch day, I put a few eggs in to test it, instead they are hatching today!! And to top it all off they are pipping at the wrong end, again! I had this problem...

What a sweet momma! They weren't separate so I'm sure that was the problem. I will try again when someone goes broody again. Actually I have my silkie broody again.

Quick question....Does anyone have any luck witht the incubator fromTSC? It's on sale right now and since I'm having a hard time with my homemade one I thought maybe buying that one. I figured I could get the eggs all the way to the pipping stage then put them in my homemade one for hatching.

So I feel terrible. This is my third time trying to hatch eggs, some mine some I bought, and so far it looks like nothing again! Last year I had no problem hatching eggs but now nothing is working. It's a homemade incubator with a fan. Temps are 99-100. Humidity is 20-30.
