Me neither. <*whispers: 32 surviving chicks out of 77 set, 70 going into lockdown*>
I had 18 chicks hatched total. 2 Icelandics and 2 Araucanas hatched last Thursday. Hope that all of 70 eggs hatch for you.
Oh, no, 33 was the total hatched of the 70 that WENT into lockdown...
I just needed to pop on here and tell y'all I just heard the Happy Chick Trill from my brooder. The cheerful "We're OK" cheeping had been slowly decreasing, but there were a couple of active chicks still dashing from waterer to feed and all over the brooder. Then I heard it. That supremely...
32 chicks in the brooder. The one just added hatched itself but is still wobbly, but it was lonely in the incubator. Now it's in the mass of chicks snuggled under the EcoGlow.
The three pipped or partially zipped eggs needed my help, but I was too late for one of them. It died during the...

So what breeds are popping?
Buff Orps, Black Australorps, one EE from a green egg, SLW, some unmarked eggs. A chocolate little one, a fluffy greyish one, a lighter yeller one than the BOs.... and one of the BOs first hatched is already in charge of the brooder! Bet it's a roo. It...
Yah, from, I think I killed them all to Well, ONE hatching is a good thing, to Oh, look - three hatched! And then there were six and now there are 18 or more??? Boy, HOWDY.
OMG! OMG! I left for work at 5 a.m. when there were six chicks in the brooder and three chicks just hatched in the same incubator from whence came the first six. I CAME HOME TO CHICKS IN ALL THREE 'BATORS!!!
They are STILL hatching!!! There were more than six in one of the other two...
SCG, 5 are no more difficult to raise and keep than 3. Plus, that's five ducky smiles to greet you every day!
I have nine. 8 Cayugas (four drakes, four hens) and one call drake (his wife disappeared). There's nothing more amusing than the little-old-man gabbling the drakes do as they wander...
3 more chicks hatched overnight! When I get home from work, I'll move them to the in-house temporary brooder with their siblings. Or would that be egglings?
Up to 7 BOs and 2 BAs.
Here are my six hatched chicks. One of them is not like the other....
These photos were taken the instant I set all chicks down in the temporary brooder. They aren't accustomed to the EcoGlo unit yet. (I have pushed them under its shelter.) They are currently wobbling around underneath...

Obsessive Chicken Disorder? Perhaps. It's not the "usual OCD" unless you have three power plugs for the car, color-coded, wrapped in the loop shape, tucked inside a carrier for 'em. THAT'S OCD of that other type.
Yer just experiencing the former.
I have a chick! I have a chick! A fully hatched, live chick! It woke me up around 6:30 this morning (I am home, taking a sick day, but NOT for hatching). Another egg was pipped. After sleeping some more (me) and waking up again, there is a second chick in the half shell, so to speak, and...
Just did a quick, pretend candling (flashlight held to the top of the eggs) of most of my 77 eggs and pulled 7 clears. There are probably more, and I strongly suspect many others which won't hatch, because a whole lot of the eggs are kinda sloshy, even if they are dark. Most of them have air...
Many folks cull birds permanently, when the bird is mean, or too ill to survive without extraordinary care, or when it's not to standard. That is, eliminate from ANY flock, not just the original one. Kill.
Other folks cull and re-home, or sell.
