Crappy cell phone pic- the real camera is MIA.
He/she's blue!
Mom is an andalusian and dad is a dark cornish. This will be one strange looking chicken!
Well, he/she's out!
I did help, between the low humidity for several hours and the fact that the egg was a (large) pullet sized egg I figured it needed help. Glad I did too, although not shrink wrapped the chick was definatly glued in there. After hours of soaking and waiting for veins in the...
Mine pipped!
Early, go figure, dispite too low temps half the time!
I'm super worried, I only had the humidity at 50! Did I shrink wrap it?? It didn't pip through the membrane, and isn't moving!
I don't know weather to help or not, it's not like I can do damage to the other eggs. Should I...
The eggs I'm worried about were set 4 days after the first egg, so only one egg is ready to go into lockdown. Sadly only one incubator, so I can't move the one egg for hatching.
We had rain for a few days, humidity was at 60%! Needless to say, they're behind on moisture loss. The lone early egg...
I'm going to go into lockdow late I think. My shipped eggs are 4 days behind the one 'full moon' egg and they aren't losing enough humidity. Worried I'll drown them.
What's the lowest humidity considered 'safe' for lockdown??
No shipped eggs yet and we're getting close to blackout dates. Sooo I've been gathering some from my girls. Low hopes for fertility, but maybe the full moon will help with that!
I reeally hope I get my eggs on time to set them on time! Especially after what's looking like a failed hatch.
Are there 'best' times on the 11th or 12th to set them?
