Linoleum is a good idea I used corrugated plastic because it allows air underneath the plastic so the wood can have room to breathe.- KingKongChicken

Apples and pears are fine for chickens if they don't eat the seeds, but yes you are correct about citrus fruit. The reason you read anything about pears and apples is because there seeds contain poisons that if consumed in bulk can harm the chickens here is a link on the information...- KingKongChicken

Yeah my chickens love the Honey dew as well as watermelon and cantaloupe and they even eat the rinds some times just be careful on how much you give them If you give them to much it will give them the diarrhea "I actually stopped giving them the guts and only rinds because I think it contributed...- KingKongChicken

I did the same built a bottom skirt or 'apron' 2 feet back from the run fence line and buried it, unfortunately all I had was the 2 inch mesh Chicken wire so I did what I could at the time and doubled layered it. On the right Internal wall dry feeder; I made the metal tray from flashing and was sure to make bend all the corners and edges so its not sharp. The original cut on the inside was not large enough so I had to bore it out to make it a little bigger the cuts not to pretty but it works Side view...- KingKongChicken
