post your chicken coop pictures here!

sorry that had to happen to your daughter, who was only trying to be friendly...so sad, but I have to say I've seen a beyond-drastic change in how children are nowadays. Being 70 years old I've seen it all...been there, done that...again, so sorry, and tell your daughter she's a trooper for sure! :frow

I too am shocked at the mindset of the youth of our current day... What's worse... The parents of said youth see nothing wrong with it... I am trying to tea h my kids the old school ways of thinking... Treat others as you yourself wish to be treated.... Yes, that's an outdated way of thinking but it's better than ,do unto others BEFORE they do unto you.... My little girl is 7 and in the second grade and has been telling me that 3 boys have been bulling her in class... The teacher claims no bulling is going on but I'm inclined to believe a child who's suffering said bulling than a teacher who admittedly has started sending my child to the nurses office to go potty instead of the bathroom because my daughter is afraid to go by herself... That alone will give mean spirited children cause to pick on her... The reason... The teacher doesn't want to send a buddy EVERY TIME with my girl....

Hmmmmm, the word homeschooling comes to mind. Quite frankly, if I had children in this day and age, I'd be homeschooling them FOR SURE!

Love the grape idea. I may try that. I have a trellis I can use at the entrance of the chicken yard.

Maybe you can see the edge of the trellis.
make sure you don't use chicken wire

I'd be making surprise visits to that classroom. I'm right there with you on teaching to treat others as we wish to be treated. I know some family history of the girl bullying my daughter and it's truly heartbreaking. After the snack incident, other bullying issues came up that my daughter has experienced from this other girl (much more frightening than a stolen snack) and I notified the school. They've been very forthcoming with me about what they're doing to put an end to it. However, I'm still looking into alternative schools for my daughter.

If I wasn't a single mom working two jobs...oh believe me, I would be homeschooling!

We have been thinking that very thing ourselves.... They have a free new homeschool thing called k12 online that I think we may use next year... I hate removing them from the student interaction and life set up but even my daughters therapist thinks it may be an option we need to look at.... Ever sense my daughter and I were involved in a car wreak with an 18 wheeler in 4/13 she has been showing increased signs of anxiety and stress... We are now about to have her checked for post traumatic because her problems started after the wreak....

I, thankfully, am forced into a stay at home mom capacity with my 4yr old so I think the homeschool idea might be a good option... As for the visits to the class, I'm going to be asking my mother-n- law to watch my son and going to the school tomorrow morning to talk with a few people...l

Sooooo cute.   Love the windows.    :D
thank you, those were small shed windows I picked up for the kids playhouse and never used. We got our playhouse windows off of a friend. They were those small display windows you see at Lowes and places like that. They function great and you can usually pick them up cheap.

Gosh, so sorry to hear that...I think you're right...homeschooling might be just the ticket for her...all the best!
