Think my girls are suffering from S.A.D.
That cold change that came through Syndey yesterday has turned 4 out of 5 little ladies broody.
I see an egg drought ahead...Time to enforce some restrictions - no egg eating between 10am and 4pm.
Thanks for the tips guys. I managed to get one of them with the hose a couple of days ago on a high powered jet. Seems to have deterred them a bit but I have a feeling they'll be back. Was thinking of trying one of those plastic owls on the roof of the coop but don't want to scare the **** out...

Has anyone heard of peckabloc? Just saw an ad for them in this months gardening Australia and wondered what they were and if they were a good idea.
Also just picked up my first copy of Australasian Poultry. Haven't read it all yet but loved reading about the Naked Necks & Chocolate Orpingtons.
Hey guys,
Hope you all had a good weekend. I think one of our Silkies is getting ready to lay us our first egg. One of them is digging down and making what looks to be a nest inside the coop. She's ignoring the nesting box for now though. Sikies are daft. I love em.
Can't wait to get...
Ash your new coop looks awesome!
Satay sorry to hear about your problems with the neighbours dog some people just shouldn't be allowed to keep animals and the council needs to have a rethink on some of their rules and regulations.
We finally had to take Mabel & Dot back the other. Turns out...
