Not sure about the stumps but we used the dried out leaves as nests because they keep the crows out.

People are making me so angry. So many people reporting lost ducks and chooks in the flood and nasty people are responding "who cares" "they are just ducks" etc. I would be devastated if my ducks went into the water. I think hubby would feel the same way about his chooks.

Unfortunately people had to leave farm animals behind here. We saw lots of cows floating down the river but there are posts that they are washing up alive. Hopefully all the ones I saw are ok.

We are ok. So thankful it didn't come into the house. Lots of hard work to do on fences when the water goes down not will delay our renovations again but that's life when you live on a river!

We got completely blocked off. Worst I've ever seen. We can get out of our area but no further north than our main road. Still no power.

This is why we don't have a pen in our paddock. We are stuck and chooks food has gone mouldy so they are eating our salad for breakfast lol.

We have the river at the back of our property and it's about to go over. We are built up so won't get any structural damage to our house. The chooks are unhappy but the ducks think it's wonderful!

My girl, Primrose is not so tame. She is more placid than my drake, Olaf with the chooks but she doesn't like being handled at all. He will tolerate sitting down with him but my daughter tries to carry him and he hates it. Muscovies have very sharp claws so we discourage her from trying. I have...

Anniebee she sort of marches to her own drum. She will sleep everywhere but the roost. She is like that with me and the ducks but she gets pecked at by the other members of the flock.

QLD ladies, how do you keep toads out of the coop water? I'm so sick of fishinng them out of every water dish in the place. I dare say the ducks pond is what is initially attracting them but if they aren't in the pond, they are in the chook water trays.
