That sounds great haha umm honestly im not too sure though about the other drake ive only ever had these two before
But it is possible that it could cause some issue
Hey everyone I ve got some exciting but sad news!!
Exciting is if you have ever wanted two pekin ducks your time has come! Sadly I cant keep Stanley and Stella anymore mum wants them gone and Stanley really needs some other ladies around as stella is loosing feathers and is close to bare skin...
Thanks @satay haha looks like ill have to do some major comparmising with my mum haha seeing as pekins don't brood though is there any other flightless ducks that I could get to pair with Stanley? I really don't know much about ducks haha mine are rescues
Hey everyone been a while since ive had a chance to sit and enjoy a bit of mindless websurfing! Good to see everyone is well.
Now that I have the chance to be online again I need to ask some advice. I know female pekins can have ruffled neck feathers due to mating but my male is almost at the...
@megacakes I also live in an inner sydney suburb where abouts are you were in the ryde parramatta area!? I hope your neighbor doesn't get in too much strife from others!
Eeeh im freaking out!!
Stella starting laying probably a week back and her eggs were lovely shape and size I even made some delicious quiche. But Tuesday morning I noticed an egg in the pond it was soft, I thought because it was laid in water. That afternoon dad found another soft egg and this...
I feel like this is a dumb question but what is a run and do I really need one for ducks? We built our ducks a shelter but being as we live in sydney and have a decent size yard and high fences and our own cats n dogs so no neighbouring animals come into our yard I dont like to lock thme up at...
So how old are silkies uasally when their sex becomes clear? Im looking for another girl to brood for my pekin but I wnt a chick or adult that will eventually love me. My drake always attacks me (im working on showing him im alpha) and so stella stays away from me because of it. But yea I...
Yea the silkies I love them and their fluffiness I also saw a lady on better homes and gardens who has show silkies and took them around to nursing homes as means of entertainment I thought it was just great and they seem like such lovely little additions to have
@TheChookPatch honestly im not sure at all she belonged to a famiky friend as a pup but they couldn't keep her, but they were told she was pomeranian cross chuiwawa. They were very wrong. But, 11 years on she is still a small dog her heads about knee hight
Waaa my poor puppy (not really she's 11) was attacked by another dog this evening. All the vets are closed!! We gave her a salt water bath to clean her wounds but im worried she's walking a but funny.
Everyone cross your fingers that tonight will be a good night and she just needs rest :(...
I think for now we arw going to eat them until I know a lot more about caring for ducks ect also we have a huge back yard probably only ideal for maybe 4 ducks so if I did hatch them I would sell the ducklings
@K Spot yes Pekins are just so cute and they really are just fun to watch. Sadly though my ducks were abandoned and I think because of it im having behavior issues with both of them still not being comfortable with myself or other family members
I used google which said males have a tail that flicks up and females are straight but honestly I thought both their tales flicked up and were boys. Until I found an egg -_- haha embarrassing to say I thought Stanley humping Spencer (now stella) was him being dominate over another boy. Oooops!!
