    chocolate & black Muscovies?

Quote: They certainly look bronze to me. My hens look more bronze than the drakes. If they do indeed turn out bronze, you're more than welcome to as many eggs as you want. You won't have to buy any if you trade me for some eggs of another color I don't have.

Quote: That's okay, they are just for pets. I don't need to breed them. 8 ducks are enough! They sure do eat alot.

    chocolate & black Muscovies?

Quote: REALLY ! They could actually be worth something!!?? I got all 6 for $20. delivered. 2 boys, 4 girls I was planning on using the blue drake over the "black/bronze" hens. and the black/bronze male over the chocolate hen ( to prevent inbreeding) Is this a good or bad idea?

    chocolate & black Muscovies?

Quote: I agree that they aren't true black. I also don't think they are chocolate either. I like your bronze theory. At what age will they molt out and show their true colors? I'm new to muscovies.

    chocolate & black Muscovies?

Thank you Learycow for your encouraging words. I'm not sure if I'll breed them this spring or not. I am very curious as to what genes are lurking in them. I'll just have to wait and see!

    chocolate & black Muscovies?

Quote: When I bought the ducklings, the owner insisted they were chocolate pied. Since she only had 2 muscovies a pied chocolate drake and a pied chocolate hen. The ducklings looked black to me but I bought them anyway as they were a great deal and color didn't really matter at the time.They...
