I haven't tried this, but I think I read about it on this site. . .there are so many ideas on this site. Do you have a "normal" chicken waterer that the ducks don't mess with? Try filling the heated dog bowl with dry sand. . .and put your regular waterer on top of the heated sand/dog waterer...- Midwest Lizabeth
