2hot2chicken, that is an adorable little chick! Thank heavens you were able to help and save it. I had 2 chicks that pipped through a vein in the membrane and they were covered in blood when they hatched, they are still oranger (is that a word) than their hatchmates.
I'm back up after a 4 hour nap. Keep the faith AngelaPenny, they don't cheep continuously and some of my eggs didn't wobble or cheep at all before they pipped.
I didn't actually stay up last night, but I did wake up a number of times and check on them. Tonight I had 1 egg so close to hatching for about 2 hours, I finally said enough and reached in quick as wink and gave a little flick to the 2 halves and it hatched in about 20 minutes. Great I...
Great photos 2hot2chicken! Fingers crossed for your silkie, hope it hatches soon! I locked down with 9 silkie eggs, but only 1 has hatched, so I'm hoping I get at least 1 more.
AngelaPenny, hang in there. They're probably waiting to pip at midnight so you don't get any sleep tonight.
That's wonderful!! It really should have been named Hoverbator, cause that's what it causes us to do. I'm up to 4 out now, 2 wheaten Ams, a silkie (a new breed to me) and an OE. I'll post pics as soon as I get them out of the bator.
Oops forgot 1, there is also a blue Am. I'm sleep...
I put my eggs in lockdown yesterday feeling vey pessimistic, when I candled I saw almost no movement. Uggh! Just now I looked and an olive egger is pipped and zipping away....What a relief, can't wait to see it out.
Congratulations Matlock and Eksterhuis! Shayna, sounds like you may have morning surprises. I'm looking forward to seeing more of the little fluffy butts.
