I had 2 ducklings hatch, and have 7 more with pips. I told them they need to hurry, as there are turkey eggs waiting to go into the incubator, but they don't seem to care.
I have 29 duck eggs in lockdown (15 WH and 14 Acona). My DW assures me only 8 will hatch, or anything more than that will find homes. I think I'm the only one that panics I'll have too many hatch.
Good Luck everyone!
SCG - Sorry about your hen.
As far as skunks are concerned, I've used Siberian Huskies as my "traps", they aren't live traps though. You end up with a dead skunk, and a proud dog, that doesn't understand why he can't come into the house. The yellow/green on his cheek area is the point blank...
I've candled my results are:
15 of 17 Welsh Harlequins good
14 of 16 Acona Ducks good
0 of 3 Palm Turkeys good.
My pond is a marsh, no snow or rain to fill it. DW says not to worry only 8 will hatch.
The Minnesota Midgets are cantaloupe, a small 70 day watermelon is Golden Midget. They can be good, I'm just not good at picking ripe watermelons. They both came from seedsavers.org.
Yes, I read it. Thank you for the information. Have you tried "Minnesota Midget Melons" , they have a 60-75 days rather than the 90-100 days. They might be small, but they are delicious.
