THE DREADED CHICK WAIT HAS BEGUN! I didn't know the exact date as to when the chicks would be hatched and sent out...I bet having an exact date makes the wait so much worse!
Hang in there!
It is SO hard.....once they come in the time goes so fast. I am working on the coop AND growing chicks at the same time.....I wouldn't really recommend doing that, I wish I had it all together when they got here. I can't believe mine are 3 weeks old already! They grow so fast it is...
I can see myself getting to that point as well! I have just started out with 16 chicks. I was only going to keep the hens....NOW I am kinda thinking I might hatch some chicks.......chicken math for me has begun!
It is REALLY hard to wait! That happened to me last year...I waited too long to order so I was going to have to wait forever, it wasn't going to be a good time to raise chicks! So I waited until this year and got my order with the breeder in early.
Hang in there Henry! I was a nervous wreck when the birds were shipped. It seems like forever till you get the call that they are at the post office. Have everything ready when they get there. Be prepared to spend a little time with them right off. I had to dip a few of the chicks beaks in...
IT IS SO WORTH THE WAIT!!!!!!!!!! I am thrilled that I waited for what I really wanted! I am sure your experience will be the same! My chicks are gorgeous! I marvel at their beauty and quirky things they do EVERYDAY! I love my chicks and am glad I did the "chick wait". The...
The third one in the picture is a Lavender Orpington. I ordered Lavender Orpingtons, Blue Laced Red Wyandottes and Araucanas. Not Easter Eggers but true Araucanas.I got them from Chicken Scratch Poultry out of Illinois. I am VERY happy with them. All of the Araucanas are rumpless. A few of...
MY BABIES ARE HERE!!!!!!!!!!! THEY ARE SO BEAUTIFUL! I will post pics as soon as I settle them in and figure it out, I haven't ever posted a pic on here.......
Do I need a rooster????? I don't really want to deal with one if I don't have to. I don't think I would ever brood chicks. He sounds like a real headache!! He would probably make a GREAT stew!
I know! I am not at ALL patient! My poor husband has had to listen to it for weeks! Today is the day I find out if my chicks ship or if it will be next week. I am going to TSC this morning to do all the "chick supply shopping"! I am estatic!
