    Fermenting Feed for Meat Birds

I put my roosts in hangers so they are removable. It works great for cleaning. Just pop them out and then back in. I have to add another high roost because the pecking order affects who gets to be on the higher roost so I am going to add another one at the same height.

Just fyi on my experience: tried to make the liquid and screwed it up and had big chunks. I don't think I boiled it long enough. I now make the powder. I cut the bars of Zote soap into small chunks and put them in my ninja food processor and it makes it pretty small. I mix the bar of soap, 2...

Yes! You can ferment layer pellets in just water in a couple of days. I know the more experienced "fermenters" will chime in. I have been fermenting grower crumbles for my soon to be layer flock for a couple of months.

You print them & mail them to me and I could spiral bind them. I am sure the small feed stores would want to carry...

If you have a place to you could keep the mealworms in the house. I would prefer mine to be in the sunroom with all my other 'small' farm supplies but that is were it is humid. I have them in the living room at the moment but this winter they are going back into the sunroom. I don't think the US...

I did put 2 drops of dawn dish soap in my water to help with 'possible' worm problem. It was something I read on byc that bee had posted and others. I don't know if it will kill good bacteria also, but it is supposed to strip the worms of there outercovering so the birds digestive systems can...

I have read a lot of your posts on different things, and I think I understand what you are saying. I am not saying that my garlic concoction didn't work, but I am still willing to give some other things a try. I am hoping that the garlic worked great and and that is why I saw the poop with a...

I just cleaned the coop. I do sand in the coop because it is raised with a wood floor and it is very humid here. I did find one poop with worm evidence in it. Should I put some soap in there water? Will dawn dish soap work?

    Fermenting Feed for Meat Birds

I gave my birds some garlic on Saturday because my two youngest birds, buff orpingtons, have combs/wattles that are sometimes pale and other times really red. They are 12 weeks old. People on the buff orpington thread keep suggesting worms, but I don't think it is worms & I didn't really want to...
