hi I have been feeding FF for about a year. this is the layer mash I am using. I am in a part of NJ where not many people have chickens therefore not much by way of choice of feed. please any thoughts would be helpful if I should add anything

I have been using FF for about 8 months. I have a bucket with lid inside the coop. If I leave the lid ajar the flies are horrible. It's a 5 gal frosting bucket. Lid is just laying on top not snapped shut. Is that enough air?

I switched over to Layena from a mix from a less commercial feed as my store was out. Does anyone else use Layena for FF? And are you happy with it. Texture is very sticky to me. But since I'm here I will show off my beautiful batch of eggs ;) five out of six started laying this January...

I think I will invest in a heated bowl for the feed. Coldest it's ever been in NJ. You are in WV? Did you get that horrible snow storm? Two weeks and smelly poop is down that's a big plusssss!!!
Thanks so much. I will try just morning and layoff scraps for a bit. I just wasn't sure about going to bed with nothing in stomach with it bring so cold. I have read on here that food in crop helps keep warm as its consumed. What do you say Bee? I trust your opinion and knowledge.

Hi new to chickens and just starting to ff I hear about the firm poo and less smell. Do most still feed scraps from kitchen and does that defeat the purpose as it relates to poo?
