He turned out to be a Mallard drake. He is lovely! I bought him 3 Rouen hens. I am just waiting for them to start to lay. I will take a picture in the morning.

Awesome either way..I am just glad it is living! I trust ya'll! I was not there when the lady was told. I will love a mallard just the same as a wood duck! I wish it was a wood duck though we have 2 pair that summer on our land. I was hoping to have some more...Oh well!

Small update! The chick has taught it to eat and it is drinking and it is walking a little bit now between naps.

I was given a day old wood duckling. The mom left the nest with 2 left behind. I took them to the vet and he said one is healthy and one is deformed and close to death. He put it to sleep. I took the last one home and am trying to care for it. I have never had a duck. I grew up with chickens so...
