I don't know your age/generation, but did you ever hear about the tornado in North Texas (Wichta Falls) called "Terrible Tuesday"--April 10th, 1979? We were in our house & it hit us. Hid under a mattress next to mom & dad's bed, and nothing left of the roof when it was over. Mom's Ford LTD was...
Ooh, cool. I did four posts in a row. Do I win? :lau
I planted a Red Osier Dogwood shrub yesterday, and three more Mahonias (Oregon Grape Holly) the day before that. I don't get to make any new beds (he says naively) but I do move things around when I discover this one wants more sun, or...
Do you mean a 50% chance of succeeding or 50% chance to have an ablation? I had one and it really helped. Not completely--if I drink too much or let myself get dehydrated, I have an afib. A friend of mine had to do the ablation twice, but so far the second one is helping. Hang in there.
I dug up all (I hope) of the Sweet Woodruff I was stupid enough to plant in the herb garden. Chances are, I didn't get it all, and will be picking woodruff out all next year. Smells great dried, going to use it in the nests.
So S.W. has been relocated, along with three Martha Gonzalez Roses...
We moved into our house, Christmas of '20. In preparation for getting chooks, I planted:
Rosemary,
two types each of sage, mint, oregano, and thyme
lemon balm,
yarrow,
lavender,
comfrey,
dill,
fennel,
three Martha Gonzales rose cuttings, (dragged this rose through three moves now.)
and sweet...
Our weather is finally serious about really turning spring (we had 5 inches of snow a week ago) and I have been out seeing who is sprouting and who needs to be moved, etc. They say the best fertilizer is the gardener's shadow, right? Watered everybody, and planted a Lady Banks rose on the back...
Well, it's official. The heirloom iris are out of their pots and in the ground. I was verrrrry careful and did the work mindfully, and didn't hurt myself. (Still pisses me off that I have to be so careful. I'm not THAT old.
:old But I gave up so many when we moved from Prescott Valley to...
Our forecast says we're supposed to be up to 59 today! I'm afraid to believe it, because they have been so verrrrry wrong so many times. But who knows? Maybe I can put some of my potted irises in the ground? They've been in pots since the the move in April, but we couldn't put them in the...
I bought potting soil yesterday for indoor houseplants. We've got a mile-long to-do list until Monday next, so the repotting will have to wait til then.
Snow's almost all melted out on the acre (where I'm itching to plant all the heirloom iris, shrub rose and salvia from our last house) but...
Where do I start? :P We built a house last year, but didn't get moved in until a couple days before Christmas--and as it was a "partial build", we're doing all the finish work. (Cabinets, flooring, trim, paint, etc.) and have seriously had our hands full. I had ordered chicks from Ideal...
