I've often wanted to let the chickens free roam but we are really close to the highway and a business so I fear for them getting ran over, although I have known of chickens who will go to the road but never cross (because I think the chicken was really lured across the street by bread crumbs)...
I like the idea of the trap, that might be a good thing to invest in (I know we have coons around so it may not hurt to possibly get them gone humanely as well....).

In Washington you have every right to protect your livestock, and chickens fall under that category... I don't want to shoot the dog which is why I asked him to remover her immediately... And that is why I keep my chickens and dog in my property.... don't want someone to shoot them for trespassing.
