Anyone going to the Kiowa animal swap? Saturday at Kiowa feed, Sept 10. I have never been to one before and am thinking of taking my Blue Cochin Roo. A friend of mine is taking 20 chickens. I am just curious what they are like? She says you can sell them or swap them or give...
Mary gets her chicks from multiple different hatcheries. Her Ameracaunas are EEs but I've got five of hers and just love them; the hens are beautiful themselves and very nice. They lay beautiful blue/green and green eggs and have been my best egg layers through these frigid cold spells...
Hey guys - instead of re-reading this entire thread I'm just going to ask everybody if there is anyone somewhat near the Denver area that will have pure Barred Rock chicks available this spring? I've got a guy looking for just five straight run chicks. He wants to get from a private person ...
Araucana 20 -
It was so nice of you to take the roo. Not many people are able to help out a chicken at a rescue organization. I hope you can either keep it or find the owner.
My kids and I stood at our back door and watched the tornado (actually two) for an hour. It sure was huge and we couldn't believe how long it stayed on the ground.
We had two llama crias born that morning. I moved them into the barn with their mommas because the weather looked menacing...
joeyg4583 - our Colorado thread has no topic ... it's whatever the Colorado people are chatting about at that specific time!

I have a sweet 9 week old female "muted calico" kitten that needs a home.
She is such a cutie! A year ago we'd have jumped at the chance to get her but we've got all the kitties we need right now. Good luck finding her a good home.
Another possibility... this coming...

Has anyone heard about a free seminar in Kiowa this sunday on poultry parasites and nutrition?
No... is it being put on by the Extension office? I went to one by them a month or so ago about how to try and deal with grasshoppers. It was very interesting and informative.

Anyone else getting nailed today! We are in a real blizzard today... the wind finally showed up with lots of snow. It's a real Colorado snow storm! We may not get out till next week now.... then, with the high temps it's all going to turn to MUD!!!
Gotta love Colorado weather.
Well, how's everyone doing so far? We've got a good 6 inches and it's coming down heavily right now. It's so beautiful, especially because it isn't windy so the snow is just floating down! I love that.... we usually have such strong winds that we get huge drifts in places and other places...
