So didn't get the ceramic bulbs yesterday but rigged up a way to raise them higher above the brooder boxes. The dimmer looks like a great option too. Add that to be to do list today.

Do you brood inside? The 250w bulb I am using now is too warm for inside. So I was going to try 150w ceramic to see if it would work without roasting my chicks.

Thanks. That's what I have. So the ceramic heat emitter will work with the brooder lamps I have. Does any one know if they carry them in the store.

Do you just screw this into the brooder lamp? I am brooding inside as well and the brooder bulbs the farm store sold are too warm. 150w might be just what I need.
