And yes, my rooster is very well taken care of... He's very spoiled, actually. I love roosters.
Also, how do you tell if he's only a production bird? Is it the barring?
Btw, whole corn is better for a chicken. The germ hasn't dried out yet. And they're not bad for the chicken. Actually, it's good for them. They eat slower, and less.

Also, corn can kill chickens? I've never heard of this. Is it when you feed them un-cracked corn?
By the way, I feed them whole corn. Not cracked. I scavenged it from the fields around my parent's house. (And, of course, I rinse them.)
(I feed them 50/50 corn, and feed.)
