    people I have sold barnyard mix hatching eggs to, they have broodys and just want any fert egg....I tell them if they can't sell or find home for the roos, I will take them back, free , and that they will be used for food.

    @TerryH had an issue with this and took the bird to the vet/lab .. I can't remember the details, except they got it from just starting to cook fresh wood chips, but maybe he can tell his experience w/the vet.

    not sure where my 2 yr came from ...I bought her at POL.. nearest to the seller is RK and big R .. the 2 that will be 1 came from Big R and they use Townline hatchery.. The BR that went broody came from big R..

    so far mine hasn't gone broody.. one will be 2 in May ( a BJG went broody in aug same age/hatchery).. two will be 1 in april (a BR from the same age/hatchery went broody in Oct) eta .. they are the lowest of the pecking order and tend to stay by themselves.. I am think about getting rid of...

    it is a thing.. not enough hens and they will get over mated .. at least 6 but 10 is better

    not sure about the others but watch out for the turkeys I have my birds together, but plan on moving the turkeys out... They killed one of my cockerels that they were raised with and slept together, they were best buddies ... I THOUGHT they go after any bird that acts different also... broodies...

    They mainly stay by the brush/brambles/tall weeds and thick tree canopy when the hawks are around

    where do you go for processing? I have a couple BBB turkeys that are like dogs and I do not think I can do them myself....Why do the meat birds have to be so sweet and follow me around and sit at my feet

    my chickens and turkeys loved the grass plantain and other weeds..the areas the chickens visit the most are almost just creeping charlie and fake strawberries..I didn't mind it until it started creeping into the garden... the first year it found the garden I just kept putting mulch on top of...
