Sorry if this has been discussed before, but I couldn't possibly go through every post... I was giving my chickens Bragg's ACV in their water but now they're using chicken nipples, and I don't want ACV going through the metal nipples. So, what should I do to replace their having ACV?? I have 5 chickens who are about to come off starter feed and go onto grower feed. The organic starter cost about $37 for 50 lbs. Anyone from Massachusetts know where I can get a better price? Or is that a good price?- danib

I have 2 questions I'd appreciate your feedback on: What is white washing? Also, do you all use DE? I'm not sure if that's a good option for me, cuz I've read (alot) that we're not supposed to breathe it in because it can be damaging to our lungs and the chickens lungs. Seems like an unnecessary...- danib

TY for the dust bath suggestions, I've read of alot of people doingsand and ash. I think my dh wants the run to be sand, anyway. I can see how they do with just the sand and if they need more, I'll bring in a big basin and add some sand, organic dirt and ash. Thanks again- danib

I had no idea. I've never taken oregano oil for anything. Eaten lots of leaf oregano, tho. I hope they never have worms, but now if I suspect that they do, I know a way to treat it. I am going to give them pumpkins and stuff..heard that's a good preventative measure/dewormer. Also, I just...- danib

Oregano oil in their water is good for them? Never heard of that. I have been putting in ACV. It helps keep the water clean? I read a thread from a guy who adds iodine- danib

I started putting garlic powder in their food, and they don't seem to mind it. I'm a bit confused, though. I read not that garlic is a good all natural way to keep parasites off, but then I also read to keep them away from garlic. That letting them eat garlic makes the eggs taste like garlic...- danib
