Our rural king in kendalville is disgusting. And full of lazy people. I hate more than anything to see chicks with pasty butt. Out of all their chicks I would say a good 65% had quite a bit of buildup. I asked if anyone was in charge of taking care of the chicks. NO ONE knew what the heck was...
A lot of people think that tilling with a tiller is a great thing. Yes it makes the soil nice and pretty and easier to plant in, but it also brings up weed seeds. The best way I have found to keep weeds out and have awesome soil is to mulch. I get the tree company to drop off a few loads right...
Well I'm sad to say my last silkie has died. I have sent the last two birds off for necropsy to Purdue. I am awaiting results. I am just at a loss and it makes me so sad. To my knowledge it started with coccidiosis and has gone downhill from there. I've been fighting an uphill battle. And of...
Goodness, I am about burnt out dealing with chicken sickness. I feel like never a day goes by where everyone is fine! Currently I am dealing with bumblefoot in my rooster...which he was running a fever. Wookie, my crooked beak (from injury) who's beak is growing out and now everything is...
Thank you all for the advice. I think the bird may have been too injured. It passed this morning. My friend also had two others that didn't return home.

Here is the info I have: It has some meat taken out is a way to describe it. It's still...
Also...quick question/thoughts on a beneficial tool we could use for Indiana BYCers...sort of like a support hotline, or even just to chat, I belong to another forum and we use this FREE smartphone app called Zello, you can use it on computers too. Anyone ever hear of it? It is really cool, it...
Okay...just spoke with the vet! She said that the test came back with nothing other than a low number for coccidia.
So I am going to focus on pushing the vitamins, eggs, I am going to give them some raw meat here shortly.
She did mention that she found that it is possible that Aloe Vera...
Update: We called to check on the status of the poop samples. Husband only spoke with a receptionist...she said that they did still find SOME coccidiosis in their poo..now waiting on a call from the vet!
ETA: This possibly explains that it may only be the nutrients vitamin def.
@chickrookie I noticed changed within 24 hours when I started treating mine. If they were sort of lifeless in the corner, unfortunately those chicks died. I did turn on the heat light for them and they seemed to like that.
If you end up with the same aftermath as I am, hopefully I will...
