    I had a Red Tail hawk swoop into the chicken yard yesterday. Luckily the hen was faster, no casualties thank goodness. We definitely need to get the aviary net up this spring.

    wish I would have known to grind my pig fat that I made into suet blocks for my wild birds last winter. It took me forever to render it down from a big frozen klump. Will store that little tidbit on the back burner of my brain. Let's just hope I don't misplace it

    I'm looking forward to that myself someday. Winters keep getting longer every year. It's seems I can't make it thru a winter anymore without falling on the ice doing chicken chores and getting hurt. Can't wait for spring and getting garden stuff going.
