Geez. Faith in humanity just got a hit...who steals someone's chickens?
I'm definitely re-purchasing a trail camera, after mine was stolen...aaarrgh! Spending the extra dough for the model that sends the pics to a "black box" so if the camera gets stolen you still get the pics of the theif...
Ok, well having an issue posting pics, seems if I start a thread, nothing happens with the embedding part...so I figure i'd ask my fellow hoosiers.
This is Col. Sanders, my first chicken (was homeless and decided my work trailer looked like a good coop) I haven't gotten an egg yet, doesn't...
Haha, who gives a live coyote as a gift?
Hey, gotcha something, careful unwrapping it, it may be hungry...
I guess I could make a sweet rug, or blanket, would be cool on the basement/man cave wall. There's no way i'ma wait till october to remove these pests from this area...my son rides his...
Off tthe idnr website: Landowners may take coyotes at any time on the land they own or provide written permission for others to take coyotes on their land at any time, without a permit.
Coyotes that are taken outside the hunting and trapping season by a landowner or someone with written...
Last I heard it was almost 120-150 a pelt, depending on size and quality. I'm gonna have to look into the landowner trapping law, see if I need a permit to trap. I can't use a firearm, well, anything where the projectile is propelled by gun powder... so it's either trap, or bow and arrow...
Spent about an hour last night listening to the coyotes come in. I didn't get a look @ them, it was too dark but sounded distinctly like 5 different ones. They've been visiting my back yard about once a week. About 4 months ago, I went on a weekend vacation and someone trespassed and hunted...
So, did the chickens jump through the roof when you shot it?
I was adding a roll out nestbox to the tractor earlier today, and one of the ladies jumped back inside, didn't see her in the bottom section and I set a board to cut on the top. Proceeded to cut the board and as soon as the saw went...
Opossums are one ugly animal. I'd of shot it too. Can't believe it was just chillin there. Can't believe the chickens didn't object and were that close.
Being it's the second egg like that I'm not too worried, as the rest of the weeks eggs are fine( at least last week it was, I guess we'll see tomorrow)
I'ma poke around too, just cause I'm curious.
I'm thinkin it might be just extra protein/calcium from the fresh food they've been getting...
Hmm, they are currently not getting oyster shell over here, I was holding it back as their shells were perfect, nice and thick, way harder to crack than a store bought egg. I've only noticed this twice so far, one last week, then they're fine, and one this morning.
I've been contemplating the mealworms as well, sounds pretty well, easy. Too easy to pass up basically free protein. Seems a great way to get them to scratch through their straw in the coop too, toss a handful in and watch them clear the floor!
Fantastic idea about freezing them and saving...
I would think the motor would draw too many amps and burn out the charger, but I'm not an electrician.
Car windows are heavy, and take a decent amount of amp's to run, that being said, without the weight of the glass, it might even throw the eggs!
I'm just curious, as I'm tryinng to come up...
Nice idea for the egg turner motor cluckacres.
Just curious, how are you going to provide the dc power?
In ranndom brain fluctuations I've podered the idea of usig r/c airplane servo's to tilt the trays, and a rechargable battery to operate them.
I was also reading through some old...
An old friend of mine had snakes, that's how he fed them. Of course though, the more you leave out food, the more mice you'll get, cause they'll just keep comin.
mouse trap- take a 5 gallon bucket, a hard wire( like a coat hanger) and a pop can. Attach pop can or any othercylinder shape object and by putting the wire through the can lengthwise, make sure the can can spin fairly easy. Place pop can across the bucket, so the can is somewhat centered...
Cluckacre's, i'ma afraid I'm gonna need a pic.
Just for future reference, especially since I'll more than likely be ordering hatchery birds, and I just generally wanna see it. Same with the pipe cleaner trick, I gots plenty of those!
No problemo, I was looking @ incubators trying to decifer the egg turners for a diy project(because, ya know, I NEED to start another one...) so just a few clicks to get to the technical info.
I'd recommend taping both sides and cutting through the tape, don't know what the cutting machine...
