Is it normal for a newly hatched chick to still be attached to the shell by an umbilical cord? Will it be able to get free on it's own or do I need to help it???

These look like a great idea, however the ad comments that chickens will only take off the top and move on when they have plenty of grazing space and will only scratch until they dig everything up if their space is limited.. well, mine have the whole 2 acres to graze in, but only want to scratch...
Amen to that Cluck! I don't take vaccinations either nor will I add medications to my birds. All my birds are healthy and strong, Like you said, the key is cleanliness and good diet.
