I have just started with sheep and goats. we have 5 ewes and a ram, 3 nannies and a whether. they all do fine with each other. hopefully it stays that way. I monitor them but they usually are in the same vicinity of each other but separate. with just the 10 all together on plenty pasture it...
there are lots of clean head and legged sheep breeds. suffolk are also but i've had a lot of cross breeding through the herd that mine are out of. so i have some with some wool down their legs, and i am not that great of a shearer yet!! just trying to make it easier on myself
We have 5 ewe and a buck. hoping to get 5-10 lambs born around the end of January through early February. we will be keeping the best ewe lambs and switching out bucks with our in laws, or possibly purchasing another buck as a lamb. i'd like to cross of Suffolk crosses back to a north county...
we are going for mid january to february lambs, we didn't use a teaser either. for us jan/feb lambs seem to do well and if we creep feed we have found a real market in our area for lambs near easter time. we have just started and building our herd so most of our ewe lambs (the best) will stay...
