    Should I be concerned?

Boris has been free ranging with the ducks and chickens during the day. This seems to help a little. He walks around with the ducks for a while and then heads back to his stall and hangs out there and back and forth a few times a day. The goslings come in the last week of March. Hopefully...

    Should I be concerned?

It is winter here so pasture was covered with snow. We have Timothy, Kentucky blue, alfalfa and rye grass pasture. The pasture is almost an acre. Only in winter was it only supplementary feeds/greens. The rest of the year they graze for their feed with recommended supplementation.

    Should I be concerned?

Please don't apologize. I am very interested in the whole topic as I want to prevent these issues if at all possible. I thought I had done everything right. I didn't let Natasha get overweight. I had switched to layer feed a month and a half before laying. She had oyster shell available. I...

    Should I be concerned?

I may try Boris with the ducks. For a couple of months he has hissed when I come out to him. Last night he hissed once and then hasn't since. He is definitely not as aggressive towards me right now. I will try him with the ducks until goslings can give him some company.

    Should I be concerned?

Bhonkers, Thank you for this. I now will have a few places to contact at the first sign of a problem. Thanks!

    Should I be concerned?

Natasha is gone. We tried everything short of actual surgery. She was a trooper and will really be missed around here. Boris is upset to say the least. Thank you Miss Lydia, for your suggestion to help Boris. My family and I are sad but it is much worse when we see Boris calling to the...

    Should I be concerned?

Antibiotics, warm baths and calcium are not helping. She is getting worse. I have been trying to massage, but it is not helping. I am afraid I may have to put her down. I will keep trying to help her for a while yet.

    Should I be concerned?

I used human calcium pills that were chewable as well. I will run out and get the Duramyacin. Thank you Haunted55. I will try what you said.

    Should I be concerned?

Finished another hour in warm water bath. Hopefully I am helping her. She is having a real hard time standing up and trouble walking now that she did not have to this extent earlier.

    Should I be concerned?

I am not giving up on her yet. My plan is to do the very warm bath at least a couple of times a day for a while unless she is really going down hill. I don't want to give myself too much false hope. Thank you for looking her the thread. I hadn't come across that one yet.

    Should I be concerned?

Well I am assuming that my goose is egg bound. None of the vets in the area want to deal with her. I pulverized with mortar an pestle some calcium into a fine powder, then put it in water and gave it to her orally with a syringe. After that I put her in some very warm water and let her soak...

    Should I be concerned?

Thank you. She already has oyster shell and grit. She has been getting layer feed since January. That is why I was so surprised with the soft egg. Is the behavior that odd for a first time layer? Thank you for responding!

    Should I be concerned?

As I put in another post my goose Natasha laid her first egg. The day before she laid her egg she became very quiet and almost in a trance. She had a small amount of fluid that was opaque near her vent. She seemed very swollen in her abdomen. Then she laid her egg. It had almost no shell...
