Should I be concerned?

I am not giving up on her yet. My plan is to do the very warm bath at least a couple of times a day for a while unless she is really going down hill.

I don't want to give myself too much false hope. Thank you for looking her the thread. I hadn't come across that one yet.

I am hoping with your TLC she'll be able to lay this egg,

Finished another hour in warm water bath. Hopefully I am helping her. She is having a real hard time standing up and trouble walking now that she did not have to this extent earlier.

Could be the egg is moving and maybe pressing on a nerve, do you have any calcium? any KY jelly or vaseline, try lubing her up after she has soaked thats when she will be the most relaxed. is she drinking? if she will drink you can put the calcium in her water.

Flockman, while she is in the bath you want to lightly use your finger tips to pull/rub from the front to the back on her belly. Gently, gently! Lucy was hitting the Spa 3-4 times a day and I would leave her there for 1/2 an hour to an hour or more. She let me know what she wanted. She also wasn't really interested in eating either until after she passed the eggs. If you can please get her the Calcium with D. I am convinced it was what did the trick. Calcium works on the muscles to smooth them out and allow them to work properly. I used the human vites as per Casportpony's advice and it worked like magic. If you read the thread about Lucy, you will see I cheated and got the chewable ones and just crushed them into a small amout of water and gave her only that to drink until it was gone. Then she had plain water for the rest of the time. No oyster shell, no laying pellets, just the human Calcium pill. She also had prolapse to go along with it and had to treat for that as well. Not sure if your goose does or not. Sorry, just quickly glanced at the thread but will go back and read.

Okay, took the time and read the whole thing. You're 2 days out with this now. If this were me....I would go out and get the Calcium as I said, I would also start her on a mild dose of Duramycin, if, after an hour or so after she is given the human calcium, she has still not laid the egg. I caught Lucy right away and did have a little leeway for the time. With your goose it's getting close to when you may have to do something more.

Something you could try as well after you get her back on track. I remember my father telling me about boiling eggshell with a little bit of vinegar to leach the calcium from them. I would say 1 tsp. would be more than enough for the vinegar in a medium size pot of water. This will leach all of the usable calcium out of the eggshells and put it into a better useable form. I'd give her 1/2 cup of this mixed with 1/2 cup of water.

Something I have been noticing with my own birds, ducks, geese, turkeys and my chickens. The layer pellets don't seem to be working very well. All of my layers have free choice oyster shell and are getting Purina Layena Omega 3 and Blue Seal Extra Egg mixed. They're eating it just fine but I am still getting a few soft shelled eggs now and then. Ducks, geese and turkeys are worse. For every hard shell I am seeing at least on soft. I'm not liking this myself and am constanly afraid of finding another with the same issues as Lucy. Can you see me taking a turkey into the house for a bath? In my opinion, there's something up with the feed and I'm not sure what the answer is.

I used human calcium pills that were chewable as well. I will run out and get the Duramyacin.
Thank you Haunted55. I will try what you said.
