I'm sorry you've got burned, I kinda hate to say it, but some of those that talk God the most, well they need God the most in their lives. Kinda like the empty barrel makes the most noise. Most of the folks involved in the chicken trade are good folk. Some people see this kindness and take...

New River Valley, sorta usually stands for the Dublin, Radford, Christiansburg, Blacksburg corridor. naw, well, I tried last year with the sweetgrass but only hatched one. I have tried royal palms this year but my fiancée doesn't like the entire hatch, feed, harvest life cycle. I spent...

Karen, there was a regular christiansburg buyer who has been looking for turkeys for a while now. I'm trying to remember his name, I sold him a sawgrass turkey this spring. Do you (or anyone else in the NRV) remember his name? Thx :-)

What's really ironic is most of us sellers usually buy something at TSC. Ki4got always run in after her first sale to get feed, or wood chips, or something else she has run out of or forgotton (a joke but like most there is some elements of truth). I always need some feed or chips, or a apple...

Um, that's news to me- I heard from them three weeks ago there where not any problems, but things change... That parking lot is different though, its only TSC, so even if shelor owned it they couldn't say anything since the leasee has rights. The Christiansburg one is shared so the landowner...

The TSC in Pulaski loves traders and swaps like us and the "history" of the local swap is actually Pulaski for decades prior to the relatively recent move to Christiansburg, of course before/concurrent with Pulaski it was at the stock pen in Christiansburg. The TSC in Pulaski likes us so such...

Any news on this? Shelors such nice folk, say anything bad they sue ya! I heard the swap might not even be happening this weekend (but from a less than reliable source, the Christiansburg TCS put his free location but $10 per vendor to his wallet swap in pulaski out of business)

Ok, catching up on Winter... Lots of posts! I love my Harliquen Quail, just had two failed hatch attempts (failed shipping actually). Concurrent hatches in same incubator did awesome... I feed them some high protein feed from the Christiansburg Tractor Supply- Purina Game Bird starter and...

Very very very nice! I'm thinking of something similar but having the nesting boxes against the exterior walls so I'd just have to slide a hatch and reach my hand in. You could probably do the same if you left a tiny walkway between them. Humm, thinking about it I'd probably do it...

Isn't there one that's trying to start in Wytheville too? I've been told that some people have been trying in Pulaski too but I've wondered if they have confused this with wythville/ft. Chiswell?

Yup, perhaps the sneakiest of the bunch, don't remember if it was you or someone else that was having them stick their paws in from the backside to grab the food but my traps have small wire in the back where they can't steal, you can do this yourself with some wire cloth, just cable tie it in...

Any idea what tracks they are? Skunk, possum, coon, coyote? If its the first three there are lots of tricks, the last ya just need to draw them in, spotlight them, and shoot um

Only did this one time, and had a largish animal die up in a corner that you can't tell where nor reach without pulling up the floor in several rooms and the house smells like death for a month.... Of course I've got a polecat the other night. He ate a chicken several nights ago. Now he is...

Raw molasses is no where near to honey. My guess is it might be harder than white cane sugar to digest BUT it does contain some vitamins and nutrients. Honey is just so much better than cane sugars, but adding a little molasses to honey might not hurt

Ki4got, Ya know, I probably know you or at least would recognize your face. I'm buddies with Joe Smart and been going to the swaps for a bit now. He knows all the "old men" who hang out there being in birds almost 2 of my lifespans. If you see a chubby 40ish fellow likely with a cigar in his...
