Yep. Even though there are 225 varieties of peafowl so some are not as colorful as other varieties.
Male on the left, hen on the right.
Here's my trio of Whites. Male is fanning and the two hens are walking around. They remain White for their entire life. The male will eventually have as large...
Hopefully this spring I will be able to hatch out some White peachicks and sell them. It mainly depends on my White peacock and how many eggs my hens will lay.
Thank you! Those look cool. The only Marans that I can find with ease is the Cuckoo Marans from Dunlap Hatchery. BA are my favorite. They are hardy, very calm and friendly, amazing egg layers, lay for a long time, and can make great meat birds too. I use my hens for eggs. Any roosters I hatch...
I don't know what BCM means. Usually with genes, darkest colors are dominant. Black will almost always show. Until white is introduced. White tends to be at least co dominant. Which means both white and another color will show. If you were to breed a Black Australorp to say a White Leghorn...

Do you raise peafowl? I'm just wondering because you have a peacock feather and was wondering if there are other BYC members from Idaho that have peafowl. Peafowl are not common in Idaho and I always like seeing more people in Idaho with peafowl.

Welcome to BYC! What sort of breed are you looking for. If you are looking for a hardy bird that can handle heat and cold, docile, calm, egg laying machines, and can make meat birds I suggest the Black Australorp. I got mine from Dunlap Hatchery. Amazing chickens, I will start hatching out Black...
