I'm in Michigan and have a very friendly pet wether that I would donate to you. He is ND. You would just need to pick him up. He is healthy, and well cared for. He is almost a year old, and his mom is pregnant now. I need to make room for more babies.
I have a nice size herd, and only buy in pairs. I made the mistake of buying a single one and my little sweeties became attack goats, and bullied my new one. If left alone, they would have killed her. After a terrible month of transition, I will NEVER EVER buy a single again. They all came from...
The top picture has some nice show qualities. How is the udder? I'm not sure if you got them for showing, or if you have kids, but would be a nice 4H project! Congrats on a nice buy! ND, right?
We use pymetherin in the barn and on the goats.
While is is "natural" its still nasty stuff. We dilute it, and spray cautiously. We also just purchased guinies to try to keep the bugs down in the barns.
Pasturizing milk is highly recommended by many people and health professionals. Consuming raw milk is a risk that needs to be carefully looked at before making that decision for yourself.
I do not pasturize our milk, but for our situation I feel the benefits of raw milk out weigh the risks.

Yes they can be quite a hassle!
I have 17 ND goats right now, 7 adults, and 10 kids. 5 adults are milking. The ND have such small teats that they are difficult to milk. But the milk is delicious. We have plenty of milk for our family with the 5 does.
The bakingsoda is for "bloat" I offer it free choice in a bucket hanging on the gate. When they feel they need it, they eat it.
I also have free choice kelp, and loose minerals for goats. I also give 1-3 cloves of garlic daily as my parasite program.
A 2 day drive would be a bit much for me...
I had an older woman try to give me her Nubian doe, she just didnt want her any longer. Unfortunately the timing was poor when she called, and I had a child in the hospital.
Looking back, I wouldn't mind trying a mini Nubian. Is breeding a Nubian doe...

We ended up with...

They are comic relief as well :-)
At my daughters check up this past week, they asked "how much TV does she watch? How often is she getting outside?"
My response, we don't have cable, satellite, or even the box to watch public tv. We watch educational videos on farming, milking, and the like...
I don't have pygmy goats, but I do have Nigerian Dwarfs which are similar is size. We have about 150sq ft for 5 NDs and their grazing area is about 2 acres fenced in. We also take them for walks about every day about 1/4 mile through the woods on our property. They graze and eat brush on the...
