looks like my hatch is done. 7 chicks in all out of 22 eggs. Not great, but better than I did last year. I'll post a pic once they clean up a bit.
Good luck to anyone that is still waiting.
Well, I did a quick snatch and grab. got the three oldest ones out. left one. Looked at a couple of the eggs and the membrane looked pretty dry. I took a couple wet paper towels and layed them over the eggs with a pip. The humidity level did go back up, so we will see how the rest of the day...
my humidity is dropping...and Im not sure why... Im thinking of making a quick grab to get a few out and put some wet papertowl in to try and boost it.
Thanks. I have heard both ways...they need low and they need high. last year I tried with a low humidity...and only got 1 chick out of 17 eggs. This year I have kept the humidity between 45 and 50... we'll see
Good Luck!
that's pretty high. Do you have more than one thermometer to verify it actually went up that high?I have that happen last year and it was a bad thermometer
with my last batch, I bought the brightest LED flashlight I could find....and I could make out some dark mass in some of them.....but some didnt pass any light. Ill try a few from this batch on Monday night...that will be 10 days
