The incubator is Farm Innovators... It was cheap, I think 45$ at Tractor Supply.I just bought a used mini Brinsea incubator which I used for my eggs that were pipping on the wrong end... It was great... I may save up and get a larger one ... Brinsea... I think that is a good kind but expensive.
Well, this has been an eventful hatch but not necessarily a good one. I will not hatch again until I get a new incubator!
I did decide to help the chick that had pipped on the wrong end... I followed all of the instructions for doing so and it went perfectly! A second pipped wrong end also...
I have never heard of a clear tip... I don't know the difference... all I know is I have it with the big end up with a pretty good size air cell with movement on day 18... I did not increase humidity until day 19...
when I noticed it, it had two tiny air cells the size of dimes on each end... on...

Now I am worried that 50% humidity is not low enough! This can drive you crazy. I just read the dry hatch method AGAIN and printed out the picture of the air cells at 7, 14, and 18th day.
I think I am going to let the humidity drop a little, may be around 40% until day 14.
I am only on day 5!
I too am lowering my humidity a lot! I may not be true dry hatching but I have read the information provided here and have been keeping the humidity between 40-50%.
I have had several bad hatches due to too high humidity! I had living chicks at day 18 and after that, they died. So I agree due...
