cute turkey baby!!! cn grats
my friend gave me some chicks to keep my grey chick company. 2 delawares, boy and girl, 2 black copper marans boy and girl, 1white maran girl, 1girl isbar, and one peach colored silky sex unknown. the gray one I hatched and is one week older. they think he is neat.
I am on day 20 and I have a really big egg that pipped the inner membrane- but the air cell inside was small and I was afraid i would run out of air before it made a pip- so I gave it a little pip in the air cell so it would not run out- now it is really pecking away at the shell with alot of...
day 19 for me. 2 starting to enter aircell. air cell is getting fuzzy shadow on heavy side of dip, flexing up and down.. 2 are shrinking down. slightly bigger eggs may take longer. all veins visible.
clear tip is not air it is fluid. on day 18 candle it is best to check the pointed ends and make sure it is not clear because there is too much fluid if it is and you would not lock down, but I did hatch a couple of eggs like this it just takes longer- and I didn't add water until the external...
as long as it is breathing leave it alone- but do not help it out- it may take the chick a couple of days- but most chicks don't pip the bottom, they pip the inner membrane first, then breathe the inside air and peep a day before breaking an outer pip- then when the outer pip is piped they are...
my chick wants buddies- I have a lady that can give me chicks tomorrow- and I still have sun/mon to wait for the rest. I want to put the 3 weeks old in heated outside pen and not with this little guy.
day 18 for my 4 eggs I placed 5 one was clear. One is spot on the other 3 have veins, but not shrunk down. I am going to wait until outer pip to lock down moisture wise, but I have stopped candling.
keep them in the incubator if you like candle the tips, that is a big indicator, if it is clear on the tips I would not lock down.
I am dry hatching homemade incubator- and I am on day 15, tomorrow I will stop turning and not open my incubator until day 22 no extra water until outside pip...
