Sorry I’ve been quiet. Work is getting, well, stressful is a good way to put it. I’m glad y’all are ok tho. I don’t miss hurricanes at all and I especially don’t miss the cleanup. We had a small snowstorm here so we had tons of downed limbs. I think we had worse cleanup than you Cynthia!
I think dehydrating them into pear chips would be good. Maybe with some sugar and warming spices sprinkled over them?
Off topic, I also got to hear one of my pullet’s do her egg song for the first time! :D
Thank you! It’s from my leghorn I believe! She’s the only one with any significant comb and wattle development.
I’m going to consider it a belated birthday present because it’s in the same week:D
I feel so bad though because my mom’s boyfriend just left to go camping and he’s been waiting...
I’m on the western slope, which is high desert. I don’t ever have to worry about too much snow. We did have a freak ice storm a few years back but that’s the worst of our winter weather
I mean in a perfect world I’d choose neither as well. I am happy I live in one of the few places in the US that doesn’t really have natural disasters tho.
I’m in the only part of Colorado that doesn’t really get snow, so no blizzards. I’m in a mountainous area, so no tornados. No hurricanes...
I think I’d rather go through another hurricane if I had to choose. You have longer to prep and the devastation usually isn’t as severe. At least in the same ‘it looks like a bomb went off’ sort of way
I’ll be honest and say that rustic is my personal favorite style, but I do really appreciate the work that has gone into that kitchen and how put together it is. We’re going to be building an ADU on the property for me to stay in and I’m trying to think about design and functionality.
No my batter was actually too thick and dry, almost like a cookie batter so I ended up adding a half cup of homemade yogurt. That got me a very thick but workable batter
I’m hoping the tiramisu I plan on making in two weeks goes more smoothly
Interesting about the seeds. Having grown up in...
Calf! Personally, I think Thor would work. He’s a red head in the original mythology.
Thank you for the info on the Arkansas Blues! I’d love to check the breed out once my girls have thinned out in a few years. They sound like a great little chicken.
Michelle, how exciting! I’m in the Rockies myself. Or next to them. I’m almost in Utah, truth be told.
Mary how do you like your Arkansas Blues? Are they flighty? Do they tolerate the heat well at all? Broody? Productive? Sorry for all of the questions but I can’t find hardly any good info of...
I might be quiet for long stretches too. I work retail and back to school is coming up. Or should be coming up. This has been a weird year
Cheryl, did you ever say what part of Florida you live in? I grew up there myself and I miss it sometimes
Thank you Cynthia! I doubted myself about your name even though I’ve read on here a bunch of times. I have no explanation  I do think I get hot enough here for peas, possibly even too hot! I’m usually at 95°+ during the worst of it
Hi Mary! That’s quite the accomplishment, being...
