Congrats to all on successful hatches. I think my las one just popped ou. I ended up with 9 Phoenix, 3 buttercups, 1 silkie, 1 spanish, 3 backyard banties and 1 (adopted) duckling.
Not the best pic but my computer is down and that was from my tablet camera.
Cute. what breed and what color will those be when they grow out? I just hatched 2 banty cochin mixes that look just like that. I am curious on the color.
My early batch is hatched. Got 2 and 1/2. I am just not sure #3 is going to keep going. I had to help and it isn't acting right so I give it until morning to see how it progresses. Still have 35 in lockdown due Friday.
here is a pic of the first one out.
From my understanding the turning is more critical in the earlier stages. Closer they are to hatch, less critical.
I agree - new hatchling football will keep the others moving! I plan to do the same.
Welcome! The more the merrier!
Me too. My 2 borrowed Styrofoam still air, no humidity checking incubators have done well for me. When I do candle, I take the lids completely off and go through all the eggs, add more warm water if it is low and then replace the lid and watch for the temp to...
Yeah to all the wigglers out there! Candled last night but was so late and so tired that I didn't get all the posts in that I wanted. I have 55 left in the bator. About a dozen of those are simply hopefuls as they were too dark for me to see. I am very dissapointed with my silkie ratio...
Loi've never tried to take pics of it. I'll get my daughter to help. Our "candler" is just an led flashlifht, a dark room, and my hand.:D. Works well enough for my unscientific process. I just can't see in the darkest shelld eggs so they just ride along until hatch day.
Wakey wakey...
